Equipped and Empowered.
When Jesus was being baptised and Holy Spirit in the form of a dove rested on His shoulders, it was also a picture for us of life in Jesus. The Spirit RESTS on us. As He rests on us, we can rest in Him. The same Spirit that anointed Jesus for ministry in the waters of Galilee, anoints us today for our ministry in business. We are equipped and empowered by His Spirit.
There are 7 attributes and characteristics of His Spirit that rests on us. They are the seven spirits of God as detailed in Isaiah 11:2. As we enter life union with Jesus, as we truly become one with Him, we experience the fullness of His Spirit. It’s His Spirit that gives us the ability and skills to rule, to lead and to create in business. 3 of the 7 spirits of God, is what I felt to encourage you with today. The Spirit of WISDOM, The Spirit of UNDERSTANDING and the Spirit of COUNSEL.
The Passion Translation bible refers to wisdom as the Spirit of Extraordinary Wisdom or the Spirit of Skillfulness. It’s the same Spirit of God that He put in the gifted artisans who built the tabernacle in Exodus 31. God put WISDOM in their hearts to so they could make what God had commanded Moses to build. God’s Spirit enhanced these men’s native abilities with WISDOM to fulfill His instructions, UNDERSTANDING to solve the project’s complex problems and workmanship skill to accomplish the labour with accuracy. The Spirit of Wisdom gives equipping ability for business, creativity and decision making.
The same bible translation refers to understanding as the Spirit of Perfect Understanding or Spirit of Intelligent Insight. This imparts the ability to discern truth, to know the meaning of riddles and to decipher parables and allegories. The Spirit of understanding anoints you with the ability to have insight into things that may be complex or perhaps hidden from the natural eye. It’s a supernatural ability to see and understand what others may not.
Finally, the Spirit of Counsel, the Passion Translation bible refers to as The Spirit of Wise Strategy or Spirit of Guidance. It’s the word ‘etsah’ which means counsel, advice, purpose. It’s a word that’s used for steering and guiding a ship. This Spirit imparts the counsel and wisdom needed for spiritual leadership.
My prayer for you today, is that you be filled to overflowing with His Spirit. That you operate from a place of REST in Him, and as His Spirit rests on you, you will be anointed afresh with heaven’s WISDOM, UNDERSTANDING and COUNSEL. Extraordinary wisdom and skill beyond natural ability, perfect insight to solve the complex issues you are facing right now, and wise strategy to co-steer your business in partnership with Jesus.
His resting presence on us will manifest in outcomes, solutions and results that our own natural efforts couldn’t even come close to producing. Business in partnership with Jesus and His Spirit is the game changer. And remember it’s all for His glory, not our own.
