Have you ever felt seasons of crushing, pressing, discomfort and “the stretch”? You may even be going through it right now. As clay in the Potters hand, if we rest and trust that He knows what He’s doing, we often leave these seasons ready to hold and steward what God wants to entrust to us.

For business owners, shrinking numbers are often scary. Especially when they’re shrinking numbers of sales, profit, staff or perhaps number of clients. These seasons can be frustrating, discouraging and a source of fear and worry, but it’s in these places of total reliance on God that we see His mighty hand at work.

Whatever is going on in your “world” right now, in business, in relationships, in health, in finances, I encourage you to see Jesus as He is right now. Seated in Heaven at the right hand of the Father with earth and all it’s people and problems as His footstool.

God’s presence goes with you, before you and behind you. And He will give you rest. Whatever God has asked you to do, you can trust you are not alone, He goes with you. God always graces you for what he calls you to. He will equip and empower you. You can rest in that.

The same spirit that anointed Jesus for ministry in the waters of Galilee, anoints us today for our ministry in business. His resting presence on us will manifest in outcomes, solutions and results that our own natural efforts couldn’t even come close to producing.

When we follow the prompting and leading of the Holy Spirit, there is a flow to it. There’s a grace and ease about it, and it feels unforced. There’s not a pushing and a striving, it’s a natural by-product of life IN Him. It’s a life which is flourishing with fruit and results, but not at the detriment of our health, sanity and JOY

Whenever we are faced with mountains of problems, we can trust that before us they will become a plain. They will come to nothing, God will make sure of that. There will be victorious, praise filled shouts of GRACE GRACE as we watch what God’s Spirit does.

Everything this earth offers pales into insignificance compared to the majesty of our Father. What He can do in a miraculous instant, compared to what earth struggles and strives to achieve in the natural will be displayed.

When the storms of life come, where is your hope and faith anchored? Despite the wind and waves of seasons, if we anchor our heart and affection in Jesus, we can experience the FULLNESS of joy despite circumstances.

Too often in those moments or seasons where we are feeling tired from business and everything we carry, it’s a red flag to show us that we are carrying things we shouldn’t. We are stressed, worn out, overwhelmed, anxious, because we have forgotten or not learnt how to REST in and with Him.
